An inseparable part of travel insurance is travel assistance coverage. Broadly speaking, travel assistance insurance intervenes to cover costs incurred because you fall ill or experience an accident while traveling.
When making your choice, note the difference between personal assistance and vehicle assistance:
Personal assistance provides help for you and your travel companions. The insurance covers the medical and hospitalization expenses you incur abroad that are not reimbursed by your health insurance or hospitalization insurance. It also intervenes if, for example, you need to be repatriated or traced, or are forced to stay longer in your destination country.
Vehicle assistance cares about your car. The insurance provides towing, recovery and repatriation of your vehicle and covers the cost.
